Lorianne Tika-Lemba started her journey with the Hip Hop Shakespeare Company in 2010 when Akala invited her to perform alongside him and his band at the South Bank Centre, after seeing a performance of the play she had written, at the National Theatre Studio. She then accompanied Akala on a two-week tour of Hip Hop Shakespeare workshops in Denmark in 2010. This is where she got her first real taste of how to facilitate a workshop and from then on began to co-facilitate THSC workshops with Akala around the UK. In 2014, Lorianne graduated from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts with a Masters and National Diploma in Professional Acting and Creative Movements Studies.
“The reason I love working with THSC is because if I had someone come and encourage me as a child and make me really believe that I can achieve anything I want… I’d be even stronger as a person.”
